Moor to Sea & Dartmoor Legend Ultra

Moor to Sea Sportive has run since 2012 and is back for 2026. We’ve moved it to a July date which should (almost) ensure better conditions.

There’s a choice of four routes: The Inspire (short) route is 36 miles (57 km) with approximately 2,444 ft (745 m) of ascent. The Challenge (medium) distance route covers  64 miles (103 km) with approximately 5,600 ft (1,700 m) of ascent and the Extreme (long) route which covers 110 miles (177 km) with around 10,000 ft (3,000 m) of ascent including gradients up to 20%. Last but not least is the Dartmoor Legend Route. This is 200 miles (320km) over Dartmoor with around 18,000 ft (5,500m) of ascent

Be warned, all four routes finish with quite a tough climb.

For the three shorter routes we award gold, silver & bronze medals based on finishing times. For the 200 mile ‘Legend’ route, the medal is for finishing inside the 19 hour time limit! Check the 2026 Medal times here.

The Extreme & Challenge routes also include a KoM / QoM Segment Challenge on the iconic Haytor Hill Climb.

Dartmoor Legend Ultra

Are you ready to take on the toughest one day ultra cycling challenge in the *UK? It’s tougher than the Yorkshire Beast, tougher than the long Dragon Ride & much tougher than the Majorca 312!

We are returning with our new course starting and finishing at Exeter Racecourse. On this course there are only a few miles you ride more than once as you’ll see from the map below. However you do pass our main feedstation at Postbridge three times. We’ll be taking a bag there for any competitors who’d like one, where you can leave spare kit & food.

Our GPS trackers mean friends & relatives will be able to ‘dot watch’ and see your progress online during the event.

All participants must enter online in advance of the event. There will be no entry-on-the-day. The Event HQ opens the day before for participants to register & collect their Ride Packs. If you have trouble reaching HQ on Friday, you can still register at 4am on Saturday morning.

The Dartmoor Legend will start from Exeter Racecourse.  05:00 hrs on Saturday 4th July 2025 and are required to finish by midnight. The time limit of 19 hrs (from 5am) is based on an average of 10.5mph including all stops & breaks!
