The Dragon Ride 2027

13 June, 2027 @ 7:00 am 5:00 pm

Each year 4,500 riders get the opportunity to take on one of the UK’s toughest sportives,

In 2026 the organisers shook things up with a reversed route. Details for 2027 are yet to be confirmed but, whatever direction you tackle those climbs in, there’s no getting away from the fact the Dragon is one of the toughest rides out there!

The event is based in the beautiful Margam Park near Port Talbot, on the doorstep of some of the best riding in the UK.

2026 saw the return of the event’s King and Queen of the Mountain challenge, with Devil’s Elbow returning as a timed climb. Stretching 1.8km at a savage average gradient of 10.3%, the Devil’s Elbow is a true test of climbing power.

You’ll also experience the same spectacular views the pro peloton will face during the 2027 Tour de France Grand Départ, cresting Rhigos Mountain in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) along the route of Stage 3 from Welshpool  > Cardiff.
