The Lionheart Sportive
11 October @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

After a decade away, we are thrilled to announce the return of The Lionheart Sportive on Sunday 11th October.
Starting and finishing within the breathtaking grounds of the majestic Longleat Estate, this iconic cycling event is back and ready to challenge riders once again with two epic route options: 100 miles or 100 kilometres.
Designed to test your endurance while showcasing some of the finest cycling roads in the South West, The Lionheart Sportive takes riders through the stunning countryside of Wiltshire and Somerset. Expect rolling landscapes, quiet country lanes, spectacular views, and one legendary challenge – the formidable climb of King Alfred’s Tower, a true highlight that will reward every rider who conquers it.
Whether you’re taking on the full 100 miles or the 100km route, The Lionheart promises an unforgettable day in the saddle, combining some challenging climbs with exceptional scenery and a welcoming event atmosphere.
The Charity
This year’s event also carries a very special purpose. We are privileged to count former England rugby captain Lewis Moody as a customer. Following Lewis’s devastating diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease, we are proud to be raising funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity dedicated to funding research into MND and supporting those affected by the disease. Please follow the fundraising link to set up your own page for people to sponsor you on your challenging ride, this will contribute to our grand total.
The Lionheart Sportive – JustGiving
Rather than having our own jersey this year, we will be adopting the My Name is Doddie famous tartan colours and wearing their apparel which can be purchased from the link below … you can go full tartan or choose just a hint!
Prizes
There will be age category prizes and a prize each for the King and Queen of the Kingsettle Hill KOM
Timing will be by the brilliant DB Max crew.
Road legal electric bikes are permitted but please state on the entry form (and Strava!) if you are riding one.
