SUMMARY:Tour de Ovacome 2026
DESCRIPTION:Cycle to change lives this August. Take on a sponsored challenge inspired by the number ’21’\, for the 21 stages of the Tour de France and the 21 people diagnosed with ovarian cancer every day in the UK. Ride your way to help raise life-changing awareness and fund support for those affected by ovarian cancer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChallenge Information\n\n\n\nTour de Ovacome is your chance to do what you love and help power real change. This August\, we’re inviting cyclists across the UK to take on a challenge inspired by the number ‘21’ – that’s for the 21 stages of the Tour de France and the 21 people diagnosed with ovarian cancer every day in the UK. \n\n\n\nTake part in an organised event\, choose one or more of our suggested rides\, or design your own! Whether you’re clocking up road miles\, hitting the trails\, or smashing it on a static bike\, you’re in charge. Set the pace\, pick the route\, and make this challenge your own.Ovacome receives no government funding. No matter how you ride\, you’ll be raising vital funds and awareness for a cause that needs your support. \n\n\n\nRide ideas\n\n\n\n\nThe Ultra Rider – 1\,000 km (621 miles) in a month\n\n\n\nThe Tour Champion – 210 miles across the month (or in one go!)\n\n\n\nThe Segment Slayer – 21 rides with an average speed target\, or 21 PB attempts on segments\n\n\n\nThe Climber – 21 ascents over 100ft\, or a single ride with 2\,100+ ft of total climb\n\n\n\nThe Weekender – 21 miles each weekend\n\n\n\nThe Sunday Stint – 21 miles in a single ride\n\n\n\n\nWhat you can expect from us\n\n\n\n\nSupport\, every pedal of the way. Our friendly fundraising team will be on hand to cheer you on\, answer your questions\, and help you make the most of your challenge.\n\n\n\nTips to boost your impact. From setting your target to sharing your story\, we’ll share simple\, proven ways to help you raise more and spread awareness.\n\n\n\nFree fundraising materials. Get posters\, social media assets\, symptom awareness cards and more in our challenge toolkit\, helping you to shout about your challenge and the cause.\n\n\n\n\nWhy Ovacome?\n\n\n\nDespite being the 6th most common cancer among women in the UK\, ovarian cancer is still not widely known or recognised. In fact\, 66% of people living with the disease said they had never heard of it before their diagnosis. Awareness of the signs and symptoms is low\, and most cases are diagnosed at a later stage\, when treatment is more complex and outcomes more uncertain. By taking part in Tour de Ovacome\, you’ll help us change that – one mile at a time. \n\n\n\nOvacome is the national UK ovarian cancer charity focused on providing support and information to anyone affected by ovarian cancer. This includes people who have either been diagnosed with the disease or think that they might be at risk\, as well as their friends and family and healthcare professionals. Every year we provide direct support to over 6\,500 people through our support line and events. Nearly 80\,000 people access our expert information materials.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin an organised event \n\n\n\n\n\nChoose a suggested ride \n\n\n\n\n\nDownload our fundraising toolkit \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website

SUMMARY:Devon Grit 2026
DESCRIPTION:Our gravel event returns for a sixth year. It’s ideal for gravel bikes\, MTBs\, cyclocross bikes & ebikes and takes in the best gravel trails of East Devon. The event now starts in Exmouth which adds a few flat\, traffic free miles along the excellent and very scenic Exe Estuary Trail to the Extreme\, Full\, Standard & Mini routes. nb the Full is only 12K longer than the Standard but they are twelve very tough kilometres including Core Hill which is the toughest climb of the whole ride! For 2025 the timing is neutralised for the first 3.3km and the last 3.3km. This is because the Exe trail can be crowded with dog walkers & slow cyclists. \n\n\n\nAll routes take in some of the best sections of Woodbury Common. Highlights include Woodbury Castle & some great single track on the common\, a section of the Exe Estuary path\, a climb up for views of the sea at the top of Beacon Hill and also Mutter Moor. \n\n\n\n\n\nSave 10% with Sportive Club!Join Sportive Club and save 10% on entry to Devon Grit\, along with discounts on over 80 UK sportives\, cycling brands\, bikes\, training\, trips and more. Find out more > \n\n\n\n\n\nThe routes are designed to be ridden on a gravel bike but a cyclocross bike or a lightweight XC mountain bike will be almost as quick. E-mountain bikes are also welcome. The ride is not suitable for road bikes & we recommend a minimum tyre width of 35mm and 40mm+ will be best. For 2026 the Mini route is fully marked. The Mini includes all the Woodbury Common sections of the course where it is easiest to miss a turn. For the three longer routes you will need a Garmin\, Wahoo or phone for navigation purposes although we are going to add a few arrows at a couple of key junctions. Don’t underestimate these rides! You need to add at least 50 percent onto the distances to get the ‘hilly road’ equivalent in time & energy required to take them on. \n\n\n\nWhat’s included:\n\n\n\n\nQuality cotton T-shirt\n\n\n\nProfessional chip timingEvent photographs\n\n\n\n4 route options (110K\, 82K\, 70K\, 42K)\n\n\n\n.FIT & .GPX files & detailed route descriptions\n\n\n\nFeed stations with water\, energy drinks\, quiche\, homity pie\, gels\, bars\, fruit\, cakes etc\n\n\n\nPublic Liability insurance\n\n\n\nProfessional First Aid\n\n\n\nBike & rider recovery service\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExtreme 110 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nFull 83 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nStandard 71 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nMini 43 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nENTER NOW

DESCRIPTION:The Five Valleys Sportive is back for 2026! \n\n\n\nJoin Prostate Cymru on Sunday 23rd August 2026 and ride the valleys to help men in Wales with prostate cancer. \n\n\n\nWhether you are part of a club\, a cycling enthusiast or just ride for fun\, why not sign up for Wales’s premier sportive today? \n\n\n\nThe history of the Five Valleys route comes from an event which was started as a road race by the Port Talbot Wheelers in 1958 and grew to become one of the most famous races held in Wales. \n\n\n\nThe reason for its popularity was because it was an arduous course taking in some of the most historical climbs in South Wales such as the Bwlch and Rhigos mountains. It was the only race in Wales which was given a Star Trophy status – this rating is now called the Premier Calendar. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStarting and finishing in Margam Park\, Swansea\, there are two routes to choose from\, the shorter route at 54 miles\, or the longer route at 72 miles. \n\n\n\nAll participants will be given a disposable timing chip and access to feed stations along the route\, so why not take on the challenge this August. \n\n\n\nEntry for the event is just £45. \n\n\n\nIf you decide to take part on the day\, you can still come down and pay £55 to take part. \n\n\n\nWe are offering a £35 sign up fee for members of cycle clubs who ride in a group of 10 or more. For more information on how to sign up as a group\, please contact ellie.jug@prostatecymru.com. \n\n\n\nLike all of the money raised by our events\, all donations stay in Wales\, helping support awareness\, research\, and treatment for those suffering from prostate health issues. Sign up today and help support Prostate Cymru raise much needed funds to help support men in Wales fighting Prostate cancer. \n\n\n\nFor any further enquiries please contact event coordinator Ellie Jug at ellie.jug@Prostatecymru.com. \n\n\n\nWhat’s included:\n\n\n\n\nHigh quality medal to commemorate your achievement\n\n\n\nDisposable timing chip\n\n\n\nA high standard of event organisation\, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience\n\n\n\nFeeding & water stations available along both routes\n\n\n\nOptional refreshments at our onsite coffee shop\n\n\n\nMechanical support\n\n\n\nFull medical support from Acute Medics\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLong 72 Miles \n\n\n\n\n\nShort 54 Miles \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website

SUMMARY:August Bank Holiday Randonax 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Grand Annual August Bank Holiday Randonax 2026 edition takes place on Monday 31 August from St Martin’s Church Hall in Ruislip … three new routes and plenty of value just as you like it. \n\n\n\nA super fun audax style spin featuring a choice of three rides in the glorious Chilterns. Finishers will get one of our sought after patches/roundels as a trophy\, all included in the (petite) price. It’s a value for money\, not to be missed\, gala occasion celebrating West London Cycling’s fifth birthday; a Bank Holiday Bash brought to you by the same organisers as the legendary Tour de Ricky\, Ronde Van Rusty and the May Day Chiltern Audaxes from Ruislip in years past. Expect the same fun as those. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 200km (1\,543m ascent … less than last year) route\, heads out into the Chilterns towards our cafe control at Pitstone then spears out from the Chiltern hinterland on a picturesque and cycling friendly route westwards towards Oxfordshire then back through Berks and Bucks. \n\n\n\nThe 100km (955m ascent … less climbing than last year) is slightly over distance this year\, at 104km (less than last year) and the route\, as usual\, shares the 200km route to Pitstone (cafe stop) through the Chilterns but then turns Southwards and loops back through some classic Chiltrern lansdscape in another all new route. \n\n\n\nWe have slightly extended the shorter route from the usual 70km to 75km this year to fit in some nice features we think you’ll enjoy. The 75km (670m ascent … less than last year!) route is a great Chiltern route encompassing Great Missenden before returning\, no really testing climbs but a few that you’ll feel proud of achieving at the top\, invigorating but manageable hilly terrain with some nice lanes. \n\n\n\nThe event is run in an Audax Style\, you fill out your Brevet Card and get it stamped along the route\, with 75km\, 100km and 200km options. \n\n\n\nFind out more at the club website: westlondoncycling.com \n\n\n\nEnter online at the British Cycling website. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLong 200 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nMiddle 100 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nShort 75 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website

DESCRIPTION:We spoke to our customers asking how far could you ride comfortably without needing a feed station? \n\n\n\nThere were some interesting answers\, nevertheless the average we came out with was 50 miles.
