SUMMARY:UKCE Wiltshire Classic 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Wiltshire Classic cycling event is a longtime favourite with our riders\, famous for its scenic route that crisscrosses the rolling landscape of the Cranborne Chase AONB. This area is steeped in history\, and the route itself passes through picturesque Saxon villages\, such as Rockbourne\, which is home to an ancient Roman villa dating back to the Iron Age and the 5th century.  \n\n\n\nStarting at Salisbury Racecourse in Wiltshire\, all three routes guide you across county lines – into Dorset\, then Hampshire\, before looping back to Wiltshire. As you ride across the boundary between South-West and South-East England\, you’ll find yourself on free-flowing\, rolling roads that are challenging enough to be fun\, but won’t overly punish your legs. This makes it the perfect chance to relax and truly enjoy your time on two wheels. \n\n\n\nThis ride is an opportunity to get outdoors\, rack up some quiet kilometres\, and fully appreciate the charming countryside back roads that connect these sleepy rural villages. It’s about time well spent on your bike. \n\n\n\nNaturally\, your efforts will be rewarded! As you cross the finish line\, you’ll receive a well-deserved finisher medal and other goodies from our partners. \n\n\n\nOur Classic Series is designed for all riders. With three non-technical routes to choose from\, we warmly invite as many cyclists as possible to join us for this quintessential Classic cycling event. \n\n\n\nRide For A Cure\n\n\n\nFancy riding this event for £10? SUMMARY:Orwell Wheelers Randonnée 2026
DESCRIPTION:A key milestone in Ireland’s annual sportive calendar\, the Randonnée promises to be a fantastic day for any rider seeking an early-season challenge. \n\n\n\nAlongside the challenging 146km main route\, there is a Randonnée Lite route which\, at 126km\, offers a (slightly) easier option for those looking to ease into the season. \n\n\n\nMore information and route details can be found at the Orwell Wheelers website: www.orwellwheelers.com/recreation-leisure#randonnee \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHistory of the Orwell Wheelers Randonnée\n\n\n\nOrwell Wheelers Cycling Club have been holding an annual Randonnée – a long-distance bike ride\, from the French verb “randonner” (to roam) – for many years\, and the event has earned a reputation amongst the cycle sportive community as a superbly organised day out. \n\n\n\nThe genesis for the Randonnée was the annual club 100 Mile cycle that was held in early May to give members a chance to complete the traditional rite of passage of a “Century” ride. The decision was made to open the cycle to non-members in 2007\, when under the direction of Eddy Lane the Orwell Randonnée made its first appearance as a fundraiser for the Irish hospice foundation. \n\n\n\nWhen the 2010 edition of the Randonnée had to be canceled at short notice a group of seven Orwell leisure cyclists took the opportunity to re-invent their own leisure cycle and add ingredients felt to be missing by some of the existing events. The “Magnificent 7” as they called themselves were: Denis Gleeson\, John Hannin\, Stephen Hayden\, John Lanigan\, Fergal O’Sullivan\, Brendan Sheridan and John Twomey. \n\n\n\nThe new Randonnée committee decided upon a course that would be testing while attracting cyclists to experience the wonders of the Dublin and Wicklow countryside. They quickly came up with a set of key words that became the backbone of the event that’s used to this day: fun\, food\, support\, value and safety. Their first running of the Randonnée had close to 200 cyclists\, half of which were club members. The event is currently run on the Saturday of the May Bank Holiday and is a key milestone in the annual cycle sportive calendar. The Randonnée is a fantastic day for any rider seeking an early-season challenge. It can be a challenging event for some as it is a long distance cycle through and over the Wicklow / Dublin mountains where weather conditions can be unpredictable. There are snack and food stops along the route\, with the main food stop at Laragh. Mobile mechanical support and emergency medical assistance is available if required. \n\n\n\nThe main route includes the Wicklow Gap\, Sally Gap\, Lugalla and “The Wall” with 146km of distance and 2223 metres of climbing which will certainly test any rider. The Randonnée Lite is a slightly easier alternative and consists of 126 km and 1883 metres climbing\, still a tough challenge and not for the faint-hearted. \n\n\n\nThe club is proud to support our chosen charity partner – The Dundrum Arch Club. This is a social club for adults with intellectual disabilities that meets every Wednesday evening in Ballinteer Community School. This charity is serviced fully by volunteers with proceeds from the Randonée going towards benefiting the members. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n146 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n126 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website

SUMMARY:The 100 Climbs Cotswolds Challenge 2026
DESCRIPTION:Ahh\, the beautiful Cotswolds with its picture perfect buildings and manicured gardens… but underneath this veneer of perfection lie a whole host of killer hills. \n\n\n\nOrganised by Simon Warren of 100 Climbs fame\, this year’s first challenge is packed with vicious little climbs set in a maze of twisting lanes which means there are a multitude of different ways to plot your course. \n\n\n\nThere are 12 climbs to ride if you want to bag them all\, and like always on a 100 Climbs challenge YOU are in charge of your route so read on to find out more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow does a 100 Climbs challenge work?\n\n\n\nIt’s simple. \n\n\n\n1. I tell you which hills to ride.2. You plot the route. That’s right\, YOU plot the route. There are no arrows to follow\, there’s no .gpx file to download\, just a selection of climbs on a map to link in whatever way you wish – a bit like orienteering\, but on a bike and with big hills. \n\n\n\nTo make it a challenge each climb is allocated an amount of points which are scored by scanning QR codes with your phone. There are a total of 75 points available and they are located at the TOP and BOTTOM of each climb from which you will need to score 40 to qualify as a finisher. This presents you the rider with the task of plotting the best course to outwit the other riders and get back in the shortest distance. (It’s not a race though\, speed is of no consequence)You should be able to put together a route at around 90km to bag the required points\, however if you want a real challenge and want to RIDE THEM ALL\, you will be looking at closer to 180km with close to 3000 metres of elevation. Although there are no prizes for speed there is a prize for shortest distance covered to reach 40 points\, and the shortest distance for all 75 points. \n\n\n\nHow do you know you have scored the points?\n\n\n\nThe event uses an App called iOrienteering which you will NEED to download to your phone for FREE here for Apple and or here for Android. \n\n\n\n(Registration only takes a couple of minutes\, and this is best done prior to event day.)When you arrive at the HQ\, scan the Load Event QR code and this will load the climbs into the App\, then when you are ready to start\, scan the Start QR code and get going. Next\, when you arrive at the BOTTOM of each climb you scan the first code\, then at the TOP of each climb there will be another board with another QR code. \n\n\n\nThe combined points give you the total for that climb and are weighted according to how easy they are to reach. When you hit 40 points you can come home and scan the finish QR code or keep going until you have bagged them all. \n\n\n\nNow the most important part\, THE CLIMBS!
\n\n\n\nBelow are the 12 counting climbs and their corresponding TOP and BOTTOM points and there are some absolute killers\, one especially! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPoints are allocated primarily on location rather than difficulty and you can get a rough idea where they all are on the map on the event website. \n\n\n\nFor more detailed info and to plot your route exactly click on the name of each climb will take you to its Strava page. The 100 Climbs APP is also an excellent tool to help plan!

 \n\n\n\n\nThe Broadway: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 8 Points.\n\n\n\nOwlpen Hill: BOTTOM 3 Points.
 TOP 4 Points.\n\n\n\nFrocester Hill: BOTTOM 2 Points.
 TOP 3 Points.\n\n\n\nThe W: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 2 Points.\n\n\n\nBear Hill: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 3 Points.\n\n\n\nOakridge Lynch: BOTTOM 2 Points.
 TOP 6 Points.\n\n\n\nKnapp Lane: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 7 Points.\n\n\n\nHaresfield Beacon: BOTTOM 2 Points.
 TOP 4 Points.\n\n\n\nBirdlip Hill: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 1 Point.\n\n\n\nAggs Hill: BOTTOM 2 Points.
 TOP 5 Points.\n\n\n\nBushcombe Lane: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 9 Points.\n\n\n\nSalter’s Lane: BOTTOM 1 Point.
 TOP 5 Points. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApprox. 90-180 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website
