SUMMARY:Tour de Ricky 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 4th Tour de Ricky returns to Maple Cross (Junc. 17 of the M25 near London and Watford) on 30th May 2026 \n\n\n\nWe’re expecting another sellout (the 2025 edition sold out in just 3 weeks). Capacity has been increased for 2026\, but signing up when entries open on Christmas Eve\, 7am on the 24th December\, is recommended. \n\n\n\nThe name\, ‘Tour de Ricky’ is deliberately ironic\, the event actually starts just outside of Rickmansworth in Maple Cross right by Junction 17 of the M25. The founder\, Liam Fitzpatrick was always amused that so many famous races no longer started where their name suggested (eg Paris-Roubaix). These days it is run by West London Cycling\, a free to join community club which pays its bills by running events like the Tour de Ricky. \n\n\n\nThe event has always been designed to be a fun community event and is based at Woodoaks Farm\, an eco farm which has been featured on TV. It also boasts a great ‘Tea Shack’ for coffee and cake at the start and a craft brewery in case you are thirsty at the end. \n\n\n\nThe event is run in an Audax Style\, you fill out your Brevet Card and get it stamped along the route\, with 50km\, 100km and 200km options. The final route reveal and GPX files are provided a week before the event but the routes go North-Westwards into the Chilterns\, with moderate climbing. \n\n\n\nFind out more at the club website: westlondoncycling.com \n\n\n\nThere will be stalls and activities during the day to keep the non-cyclists amused. Details to be announced. But for just £17 entry\, you will get: \n\n\n\n\nA finisher’s Roundel (Cloth Patch)\n\n\n\nSouvenir Brevet Card\n\n\n\nRoute GPX files\n\n\n\nDownloadable Routesheet if required\n\n\n\nRiders’ Raffle (Prizes from Rouleur\, Biketerra\, Newlane\, Specialized Ruislip and more)\n\n\n\nFree Training Plans from TriSmooth\n\n\n\nFree online training ride around Rickmansworth (yes\, the actual Ricky itself!)\n\n\n\n\nJerseys will be available to purchase and there is an entry option at £25 which includes the traditional Tour de Ricky cap (£15 if purchased separately). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLong 200 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nMiddle 100 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nShort 50 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website

SUMMARY:The Dragon Ride 2026
DESCRIPTION:Each year 4\,500 riders get the opportunity to take on one of the UK’s toughest sportives\, and for 2026\, organisers ASO are shaking things up with a reversed route! \n\n\n\nEpic descents turn into challenging new climbs\, and vice versa as entrants get the chance for a fresh look at the Dragon’s classic routes. \n\n\n\nLess than 5% of places remain with the Dragon Devil & Cymru Classic distances being SOLD OUT and the Gran Fondo (215km)\, Medio Fondo (157km) distances into their final allocations. With incredible demand and allocations approaching capacity\, you’ll need to act fast to guarantee your place. \n\n\n\nEach route will begin and end at our event village in the beautiful Margam Park near Port Talbot and head into\, in our opinion\, the best riding in the UK. Please note the routes displayed below are from the 2025 event. All routes are subject to change. We’re currently refining the reversed routes for 2026\, and will be sharing full details soon\, including profiles and maps\, to help you prepare. \n\n\n\nAlongside reversing the route in 2026\, we’re bringing back the legendary King and Queen of the Mountain challenge\, with Devil’s Elbow returning as a timed climb. Stretching 1.8km at a savage average gradient of 10.3%\, the Devil’s Elbow is a true test of climbing power. \n\n\n\nYou’ll also experience the same spectacular views the pro peloton will face during the 2027 Tour de France Grand Départ\, cresting Rhigos Mountain in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) along the route of Stage 3 from Welshpool  > Cardiff. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDragon Devil: 296 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nGran Fondo: 215 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nMedio Fondo: 157 KM \n\n\n\n\n\nCymru Classic: 98 KM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website

SUMMARY:Ride to the Sun 2026
DESCRIPTION:The UK’s most loved cycling event! Cycle 100 miles through the night on lovely quiet roads from England across the border to Scotland on the weekend nearest the summer solstice – 20th June in 2026.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFollow in the footsteps of the Roman legions who trudged the long road from Luguvalium (Carlisle) to the old garrison camp of Caer Amon (Cramond). Sol Invictus was the Roman God of the unconquered sun and was the Roman legionnaires’ guide through war and battle and it is with that spirit that we ride through the night to arrive for sunrise on Cramond beach\, tired but unconquered! \n\n\n\nThe first Ride to the Sun ran in 2015 and 2026 will be RttS XI. \n\n\n\nRide to the Sun is FREE to take part\, there is a chip shop stop in Moffat after 43 miles\, bananas and water at the Crook Inn pub at 61 miles\, and hot rolls served at the finish. \n\n\n\nAbout Ride to the Sun\n\n\n\nIf you want to ride through the night to the seaside with a bunch of like-minded people then don’t miss this northern homage to the Dunwich Dynamo! \n\n\n\nRide to the Sun is an overnight coast-to-coast ride from Carlisle to Cramond\, England to Scotland\, racking up a century (100.5 miles) in the footsteps of the Roman legions. The ride finishes at Cramond\, “a great wee beach” only 5 miles to Edinburgh Waverley or Haymarket stations for the train journey home. \n\n\n\nRide to the Sun is an unsupported event\, more along the lines of an Audax than a sportive. As such there are no signs\, no sweeper vehicles and no official organisation: riders must take responsibility for themselves\, but the relaxed and friendly vibe is one of the highlights for all the participants and numbers have grown each year since the first event in 2015. Sunrise at Cramond beach is 4.30am so set off from Carlisle in plenty of time to get there – that’s the informal aim of the event. Most people start between 7.00 and 8.30pm\, allowing time for the chippy stop and maybe a quick bop at the Crook Inn cyclorave – but it’s entirely up to you. \n\n\n\nSee you in Carlisle! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDistance: 100 Miles \n\n\n\n\n\n1267m Ascent \n\n\n\n\n\n6.5 Hours \n\n\n\n\n\nThrough the Night \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Website
