Ride your way to help raise life-changing awareness and fund support for those affected by ovarian cancer. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChallenge Information\n\n\n\nTour de Ovacome is your chance to do what you love and help power real change. This August\, we’re inviting cyclists across the UK to take on a challenge inspired by the number ‘21’ – that’s for the 21 stages of the Tour de France and the 21 people diagnosed with ovarian cancer every day in the UK. \n\n\n\nTake part in an organised event\, choose one or more of our suggested rides\, or design your own! Whether you’re clocking up road miles\, hitting the trails\, or smashing it on a static bike\, you’re in charge. Set the pace\, pick the route\, and make this challenge your own.Ovacome receives no government funding. No matter how you ride\, you’ll be raising vital funds and awareness for a cause that needs your support. \n\n\n\nRide ideas\n\n\n\n\nThe Ultra Rider – 1\,000 km (621 miles) in a month\n\n\n\nThe Tour Champion – 210 miles across the month (or in one go!)\n\n\n\nThe Segment Slayer – 21 rides with an average speed target\, or 21 PB attempts on segments\n\n\n\nThe Climber – 21 ascents over 100ft\, or a single ride with 2\,100+ ft of total climb\n\n\n\nThe Weekender – 21 miles each weekend\n\n\n\nThe Sunday Stint – 21 miles in a single ride\n\n\n\n\nWhat you can expect from us\n\n\n\n\nSupport\, every pedal of the way. Our friendly fundraising team will be on hand to cheer you on\, answer your questions\, and help you make the most of your challenge.\n\n\n\nTips to boost your impact. From setting your target to sharing your story\, we’ll share simple\, proven ways to help you raise more and spread awareness.\n\n\n\nFree fundraising materials. Get posters\, social media assets\, symptom awareness cards and more in our challenge toolkit\, helping you to shout about your challenge and the cause.\n\n\n\n\nWhy Ovacome?\n\n\n\nDespite being the 6th most common cancer among women in the UK\, ovarian cancer is still not widely known or recognised. In fact\, 66% of people living with the disease said they had never heard of it before their diagnosis. Awareness of the signs and symptoms is low\, and most cases are diagnosed at a later stage\, when treatment is more complex and outcomes more uncertain. By taking part in Tour de Ovacome\, you’ll help us change that – one mile at a time. \n\n\n\nOvacome is the national UK ovarian cancer charity focused on providing support and information to anyone affected by ovarian cancer. This includes people who have either been diagnosed with the disease or think that they might be at risk\, as well as their friends and family and healthcare professionals. Every year we provide direct support to over 6\,500 people through our support line and events.
