Entries for next year's Paris Roubaix and Liege-Bastogne-Liege cyclosportives open today, offering cycling fans a chance to sign up and ride the routes of northern France and Belgium's famous Spring Classics.
Paris Roubaix sportive takes place on 11 April 2015, with Liège-Bastogne-Liège taking place two weeks later on 25 April. Both sportives follow the route of the pro races held over the same weekend; so you can ride the sportive on the Saturday and then watch Cancellara, Kwiatkoswki, Valverde and co battle it out the next day.
Three course lengths are on offer for Liège-Bastogne-Liège: 279km, 167km and 85km. It's worth noting that if you opt for either of the shorter routes, you will not actually be riding as far as Bastogne - but you'll still be getting a meaty serving of the rocky road that faces riders on the cobbled Spring Classics.
The Paris Roubaix sportive offers 170km, 141km and 70km options, with each route including sections of the notorious pavé that helped earn this race its title of 'Hell of the north'.
Organised by ASO, the same people who stage the Tour de France each year, these cyclosportives are well-run with ample marshalling, clear signage, regular feed stops and an excellent atmosphere. Thousands of cycling fans take to the roads each year, with many locals lining sections of the course to show their support. Entries for both sportives are now open, with an early bird rate of €30 for the full-length routes if you register by 31 January 2015.
