Adidas have launched their new Spring/Summer range of cycling kit, featuring bibs and jersey designs inspired by the wings of jet fighter planes and endorsed by GB road and track star Laura Trott.

The Adidas SS15 adistar range comprises men's and women's bib shorts and jerseys, a female-only bodysuit, the Pluvius jacket (men's) and matching summer cycling mitts, all of which feature "the most advanced cycling technologies available in the world."

Here's what Adidas have to say about the technologies baked into their new range:

  • windtunnel tested DragZero Fabric is used in the jersey with covered full front zipper for additional aerodynamics

  • bib shorts feature Carvico Revolutional Energy fabric, offering high quality compression to reduce microvibrations that contribute to fatigue

  • jet fighter wing-inspired TrailingEdge Hems that are perfectly smooth and flat and provide the aerodynamic requirements for a high speed ride

  • strategically-placed SlipStreamSeams for less wind resistance

  • RACEPLUS FIT provides a body-hugging-fit whilst using compressive, muscle-supportive fabrics for high speed racing - no kit will provide a more streamlined and stylish ride.

Some bold claims there, but we think the monochrome kit looks the business - although you may want to jazz it up with some fluoro accessories at weekends.

Never mind what we think, Laura Trott has been giving the women's gear a test run recently:

"I've tried out the new adistar range for a few weeks. The fit is brilliant and is performing great when I'm in the saddle. The jersey and bodysuit combo also look really cool, with a slick design that looks like a modern version of the classic Adidas kits.

"It's really promising for the future of cycling kit to have products which look excellent, are specific to females and are super comfortable."

Lookbook bingo

The launch comes complete with obligatory lookbook for the viewing pleasure of deskbound fantasists everywhere, featuring all your favourite cycling marketing tropes: Heroic Alpine Ascent; MAMILs Gazing Into Middle Distance; Coffee-Stop Bantz - you know the drill. Irresistible.

The new range is available to buy now. We hope to get our paws on some of the new range for review soon, but in the meantime check out the pics and visit www.adidascycling.com for more info and consummation.
