LONDON, UK - Britain will take a young squad to the third round of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics in Beijing which takes place from 13 to 15 January 2012.
The 11 rider squad sees Owain Doull, Joe Kelly, Callum Skinner and Victoria Williamson all make their World Cup debuts.
It is thought British cycling's chiefs were reluctant to send their super stars to Beijing and risk picking up illnesses or injuries during the lengthy trip.
Performance Director Dave Brailsford said: “Beijing is a great opportunity for the young riders to gain competition experience at elite level, whilst allowing for our Podium athletes to focus on the next round of the World Cup in London, before travelling to Australia for the World Championships.”
