LONDON, UK - The British team for the final round of the Track Cycling World Cup Classics has been named. The event will take place from 17 to 19 February 2012 at the velodrome in the Olympic Park, London.

It will be the first major chance for British cycling fans to see the Olympic velodrome in use. The event is being used as an Olympic Test Event to test the venue ahead of this summer's games.

The British team includes Olympic Gold medallists Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Jason Kenny, Ed Clancy and Geraint Thomas, will all be taking part. Those who haven't got tickets - in other words, most people, can watch extensive coverage on BBC2 and on BBC Interactive through the red button.

Performance Director Dave Brailsford said: “The World Cup in London has added significance given that it's the first major event to be held at the Olympic venue. We are using the Test Event as a learning opportunity for our Olympic preparations and have selected a full-strength squad accordingly. The riders and staff are looking forward to gaining race experience at the London Velodrome and it’s always fantastic for us to have the support of a sell-out home crowd.”
