As cycling's favourite panto villain, Lance Armstrong is no stranger to drama - and now the controversial Texan is once again the star of a one-man show, as actor and writer Kieran Hodgson takes his Edinburgh Fringe hit Lance on a UK tour.

Lance, a comedy show, is coming soon to Brighton's Komedia, the Soho Theatre London and Otley Courthouse among others.

If you're not a fan of the belligerent doper then don't worry, Hodgon's show isn't a tribute act. Growing up in West Yorkshire, Kieran was a childhood fan of Armstrong, and Lance is described as "the hilarious story of growing up and moving on in the wake of a betrayal by your hero."

The show traces Kieran's experiences growing up and sees him embody his best friends in the Boy Scouts, reliving the years spent with them on his bicycle, as well as some of the colourful characters he met once he moved down South.

"This lively personal narrative," runs the promo copy, "is tied together through a representation of his fallen hero, Lance Armstrong, culminating with the Tour De France's incongruous arrival in Yorkshire last year and Lance's exposure and public humiliation."

Lance has now had two sold out week-long runs in the Downstairs Space at the Soho Theatre, and the nationwide tour is well underway, to critical acclaim:

"An absolute gem of a comedy show - about teenage cycling, sullied dreams and migrating from the north. Every line of his script is wired for laughter"

★★★★★ The Guardian

"Kieran Hodgson has here served up a one-man effort that lets his comedic talents roar as never before... Tour de France? Tour de force, more like"

★★★★ Daily Telegraph

"A triumph of a show...with plenty of genuinely laugh-out-loud moments... Quite frankly, it's bloody impressive, Hodgson is seriously spinning plates in this show."

★★★★1/2 Chortle

But be quick - tickets are selling faster than a doped Texan up Alpe d'Huez...
