Entries are now open for the ever-popular Puncheur sportive in Ditchling near Brighton, which takes place on 5 March 2017.

Held early each year before the frosts have finished, the Puncheur is a great test of your winter training. Riders return year after year to tackle a rolling 105km course along Sussex lanes. The route is packed with short but sharp climbs; the challenge is to keep up a decent speed while still leaving enough in the tank for the sting in the tail, an ascent of the 'Green Giant' that is Ditchling Beacon.

After that summit finish, it's all back to HQ in Ditchling for a pasta party - where the columns of steam rising off rosy-cheeked cyclists can probably be seen from the next county.

Entry to the Puncheur has been frozen at £26 for 2017 and it always sells out early, so don't hang about. To register, visit www.puncheur.co.uk.
