Inspired by Chris Froome's Tour-winning performance to tackle your own cycling challenge?
Sign up to the TP ICAP L'Etape London by Le Tour de France on 24th September to experience your very own slice of Le Tour magic. As well as great riding, cyclists will enjoy a number of Tour de France experiences, including a guest appearance by 2010 Tour winner Andy Schleck.
Schleck, who retired from pro cycling in 2014 and now runs a bike cafe, will be meeting riders before they start, giving advice and handing out finishers' medals to those who complete the ride. You may even be able to grab a photo with Andy on the Tour de France-style podium in the event village.
L'Etape London offers a choice of 49, 92 and 117 mile routes, which follow many of the same roads from Stage 3 of the 2014 tour when it began in the UK.
New for 2017, the Medium and Long routes also feature two timed, closed-road sprint sections. These will allow cyclists to emulate the professionals by charging for the line and seeing how they compare against their rivals, with green and white jerseys up for grabs for the fastest riders.
All participants, including those taking part in the Short distance, will once again have the opportunity to end their ride with a sprint finish at the Lee Valley VeloPark.
To add to the authentic Tour de France atmosphere the famous red Skodas will be on display, along with moto marshalls, Tour de France style rider numbers, signage and a Tour de France museum with classic memorabilia and virtual reality experiences. Frequent feed stations as well as free cheese and wine at the finish line will keep cyclists going during and after their ride, creating a memorable experience unavailable at any other sportive in the UK.
A limited number of places are still available to join Andy Schleck this September. Secure your entry now at www.letapeuk.com.
