A revamped Velothon Wales will return for 2018 on Sunday 8 July, giving cycling enthusiasts another opportunity to race through the stunning scenery of South Wales on traffic-free roads.
Registration for the 140km route is opening soon, and an early-bird rate of £65 is on offer for everyone who pre-registers in advance. The discounted rate will be open for a 48 hour window before general entries go on sale to the public on September 8th.
2018 looks set to see changes to the popular sportive, with Welsh events company Run 4 Wales taking on management from IRONMAN under a license agreement.
Run 4 Wales have hinted at a "host of exciting changes" alongside the new early-bird rate. Another change that's sure to be welcomed is that entrants will now have their race packs posted out to them in advance, meaning athletes no longer have to arrive a day early to pick up race essentials.
New for 2018, there will also be two brand-new shorter routes, allowing cyclists of all abilities to get involved with the Velothon Wales weekend. Details of the new routes are set to be announced soon.
With only 5,000 discounted early-bird entries available, demand is expected to be high so don't hang about if you want to take part. To pre-register, visit the Velothon Wales website.
