The rider who died during last weekend's Dunwich Dynamo has been named as Dominic Turner.
Mr Turner, 39, was from Walthamstow and was a keen cyclist who was training to be a bike mechanic. He collapsed in Finchingfield, near Braintree in Essex, approximately 85km (52 miles) into the 179km (111 miles) ride. Paramedics and other riders adminstered first aid at the road side before Mr Turner was pronounced dead.
Victoria Kerr, one of Mr Turner's relatives, posted on the Dunwich Dynamo's Facebook page: "Hello all. On behalf of myself and Dominic's parents I'd like to say a huge thank you to all those who tried to help him last night. We are taking lots of comfort that he passed away doing something he loved. Keep on riding 🚲 ♥️".
Mr Turner was a father of two who worked for an events company.
