General entries for the Etape Loch Ness 2019 are now open. The next edition of the popular closed sportive will take place on 28th April 2019, with another sellout field of nearly 6,000 riders expected to take part.

Based in the picturesque Highlands town of Inverness, the Etape Loch Ness is a highlight of the Scottish cycling calendar. Each year thousands of riders from across the UK and beyond flock to take part in the 66 mile (106km) circuit around the iconic loch on traffic-free roads.

It's a fairly flat route with 900m of climbing, making it accessible to riders of all abilities. That's not to say it's all plain sailing: there is one notable climb of 4.8 miles (9km), and it will once again feature in a timed King of the Mountain competition.

Entries cost £64 plus booking fee. The 2018 edition sold out just three hours after general entries went on sale, so don't delay!
