Wahoo Fitness have launched a new stealth version of their ELEMNT BOLT cycling computer.
All ELEMNT computers - that includes the ROAM and the BOLT - now have the ability to view e-bike metrics thanks to a software update, while the price of the BOLT has also dropped.
The ELEMNT BOLT is Wahoo's popular mid-range cycling computer. On launch it was hailed by Wahoo as the first GPS cycling computer to take the aerodynamics of both the head unit and mount into consideration.
The new edition will be available in a stealth black-on-black colour scheme, apparently at the request of customers.
Apart from the stealthy new look, the ELEMNT is packing a significant firmware upgrade that enables it to display metrics from e-bikes. The unit pairs over ANT+ with e-bikes from brands like Specialized and Giant, and allows the rider to view metrics like battery level, mode and remaining range alongside the usual cycling data.
Alongside the refresh, Wahoo has also reduced the price of ELEMNT BOLT GPS computers. The ELEMNT BOLT, in any colour, will now cost £184.99, down from £199.99.
ANT+ LEV Integration
As of today, all ELEMNT computers will be able to access a firmware update enabling them to receive key metrics from select Giant and Specialized e-bike models, as well as core data from any other ANT+ LEV e-bikes.
Once paired with compatible e-bikes, ELEMNT computers with updated firmware will be able to display a bike's remaining range, battery life, current mode, and assist percentage. In addition, ELEMNT workout screens will be able to tell riders how much time they spent in each of their e-bike zones, and estimated remaining range.
"With more cyclists choosing e-bikes to make commuting easier or to make recreational riding more fun, we're excited to offer an update that will allow ELEMNT GPS computers to better serve those riders," said Wahoo Product Manager Megan Powers.
"The new update is our latest step to increase the number of sensors compatible with ELEMNT GPS computers, and we're glad to help more cyclists take advantage of our class-leading cycling computers at a lower price."
