Ballot entries are now open for the 2021 edition of Maratona dles Dolomites.
One of Europe's biggest sportives, the Maratona takes riders on a magnificent but brutal course through the Dolomite mountains. The next edition is on Sunday 4 July 2021.
Three distances are on offer for 2021: the full 138km with over 4200m of climbing, and two shorter routes of 106km and 55km.
9000 riders will take part in the Maratona, but with the cancellation of the 2020 edition due to coronavirus 8400 riders have transferred their entry to 2021.
That leaves just 600 new entries available for 2021. The organisers will allocate these places by a ballot, which is open now. To enter, you'll need to pre-register by 4 November 2020.
The ballot costs €2 to enter, and the draw will be held in the second half of November 2020. A list of successful entrants will be published on the event website and riders have from 1 December 2020 until 14 April 2021 to confirm their place.
The entry fee for 2021 is €140 + a refundable €10 deposit for the timing chip.
To enter the ballot, visit the event website at www.maratona.it.

If you've missed the pre-registration window that closes 4 November 2020, there are a couple of other ways to enter.
