Rapha have announced details of their latest collaboration with skate brand Palace.

Launched as part of Rapha's "Rapha20" 20th Anniversary celebrations, the new collection features five new pieces inspired by cycling style of the 80s and 90s.

That's the same logo-heavy, garish style that first prompted Simon Mottram to create the pared-back Rapha aesthetic way back in 2004 - an irony that is unlikely to be lost on the Rapha founder.

"Fashion faux pas or l'alta moda? Like it or loathe it, pro cycling style in the 80s and 90s was an anything-goes wonderland of garish graphics, vibrant colours, and unlikely sponsorships," say Rapha.

"So, as part of our Rapha20 and Past Forward celebrations, we've partnered with skateboarding pioneers Palace for a limited edition collection that honours some of the era's most memorable looks.

"A selection of heritage Rapha silhouettes have been injected with Palace's signature irreverence, with playful inversions of cycling's distinctive language, colours, and sponsors. Once again, our most disruptive collaborators help us look to the future - reimagining classic cycling style with post-modern panache."

Rapha and Palace first teamed up in 2020 with a switch-out kit for Team EF at the Giro d'Italia. With its iconic duck motifs and wild designs, the collection certainly turned heads and now fetches high prices as collectors items.

The new collection will likely see similar high demand, not least as Rapha are restricting access. RCC members will get first dibs via an exclusive early access email on 8 October, with general access opening via ballot on Wednesday 9 October.

To enter the ballot and be in with a chance of accessing the collection you'll need to sign up on the Rapha website by 23:39 on Tuesday 8 October.

Limited quantities will also be available in Rapha's London Clubhouse from 8am Wednesday 9 October.
