Entries are now open for the 2025 edition of Maratona dles Dolomites.

One of Europe's biggest sportives, the Maratona takes riders on a magnificent but exceptionally challenging course through the Dolomite mountains of northern Italy. Next year's edition is on Sunday 6 July 2025.

Entry is through a ballot, which is open from Tuesday 9 October until midnight on 5 November 2024.

4300 places will be available in the ballot out of a total of 8000, with the remaining entries allocated to tour operators. Four hundred charity entries will also be released in November and March.

The Maratona is one of Europe's most spectacular sportives.

Three distances are once again on offer for 2025: the full 138km with over 4200m of climbing, and two shorter routes of 106km and 55km.

The ballot costs €2 to enter, and the draw will be held in the second half of November. A list of successful entrants will be published on the event website and riders have until 5 December 2024 to pay the registration fee. Entrants are then required to confirm their registration between 12 February and 4 June 2024 (the so-called second phase of entry).

The entry fee for 2025 is €166 (up from €150 last year), plus a €10 refundable deposit for the timing chip.

To enter the ballot, visit the event website at www.maratona.it.

Missed the ballot?

If you've missed the pre-registration window that closes 5 November 2024, there are a couple of other ways to enter.

Package deals including entry and hotel accommodation are available through the Maratona's approved list of operators, including All Things Ride and Holimites in the UK.

And finally, a number of charity entries will be available at an extra cost with the surcharge donated to an assigned charity. The first 200 charity places will be released for sale on 20 November 2024, and a further 200 places on 20 March 2025.
