Designed for long distances whether training or racing, the new Pro5 is tubeless ready and Michelin say offers enhanced comfort and grip as well as being more efficient.

The extra speed, as tested by Michelin, is down to a new rubber compound in the tread which Michelin call Gum-X.

"By combining a new tread and wider cross-sections that range from 28 to 35 mm, the Michelin Pro5 has been developed to give cyclists maximum comfort, grip, and durability on both dry and wet surfaces," say Michelin.

The revised structure of the tyre allows it to be run at lower pressures, enhancing comfort and braking efficacy.

The development phase has seen the tyres complete over 100,000km of testing under a range of riders from amateurs to ultra distance enthusiasts to professional racers.

Feedback from testers noted the tyre's excellent airtightness, allowing for consistent pressure throughout long rides and between outings.

The new Pro5 is available in four 700c sizes: 28mm, 30mm, 32mm and 35mm, in a choice of black or classic tan sidewall.

The Pro5 is available to buy now. Find out more at www.michelin.co.uk.
