Bethany Edinburgh Sportive

This is a charity event organised by Bethany Christian Trust and all the funds raised from the registration of this event will go to help homeless and vulnerable people throughout Scotland. Sponsor Forms are also available for you to raise additional funds through sponsorship if you'd like to help. Every £30 raised provides another homeless person with a warm, safe bed for the night, a hot meal and good advice.

Now in its 6th year this exciting event for serious amateurs involves a super challenge route 102 miles. There is a shorter route of 72 miles is also on offer for those who would not be able to complete the longer stretch within 8 hours or less. Riders leave from Lasswade High School, Bonnyrigg and head south over the Moorfoot Hills to Innerleithen where the long and shorter routes split. The long route now takes a spectacularly scenic route around the borders and both routes meet again just west of Selkirk. For the shorter route, riders return to Lasswade from Innerleithen via the River Tweed and Gala Water valleys. Both routes then return to the High School over the Moorfoot Hills once more.

Each participant will be individually timed and the finishing times will be published on the Bethany website after the event. Feed and water stations will also be on hand offering the riders refreshments along the way.

Entries are limited to 400 with an entry fee of £30 per entrant. Please sign up quickly to ensure your spaces. There are 50 free spaces for riders who can raise £100 in sponsorship! Kindly Note:   Routes can be also found on the Bethany website. There is very limited parking available at the event start/finish. Where possible please car share, use public transport or arrange to be dropped off and collected.
