Dare 2b Thoresby CiCLE Tour Sportive

New for 2014 and part of the Dare 2b Supa Sportives Series is Thoresby Cycle Fest on 17th and 18th   May. This was previously called Pennies in the Park and now benefits from sponsorship from Dare 2b

There is something for everyone at Thoresby Cycle Fest, with all events based at the historic Thoresby Hall in North Nottinghamshire. 

Whether you are new to cycling and want to ride with friends on a quiet and well planned route, and maybe take advantage of the state of the art Hotel and Spa facilities afterwards, or someone who wants to tackle the circuit races on the Estate roads away from the public highway.

The Sportive  - Saturday 17th May

There are four route options, 34,49,77 and 89 miles between Thoresby and the picturesque town of Southwell to cater for all abilities and experience. All of the routes and their profiles can be found at the ITP Events website.  As usual the sportive is fully supported, with food (on route and post-event), mechanical support, broom wagon and electronic timing. All you need to think about is turning the pedals.

The Racing

There is a full weekend's programme of racing, with the highlight being the Elite Women's CiCLE Classic, part of the National Road Race Series.  This is the women's version of the International CiCLE Classic that takes place in Rutland in April, and riders and spectators can expect the sort of off road sections and tough terrain that the CiCLE events are renowned for.
