Foulness Bike Ride

The Foulness Bike Ride is an annual charity cycling event on Foulness Island in south Essex, organised by Southend City Rotary Club.

It is all about fun on two wheels - perfect for a relaxed pace Sunday ride with friends, family and fellow cycling enthusiasts. It's not a race event.

Starting from Cupids Country Club in Great Wakering (SS3), the event offers a family-friendly cycling experience with a route that allows you to cycle between 11 and 23 miles. It is suitable for all ages, with participants ranging from families and friends to work colleagues and cycling enthusiasts

The Foulness Bike Ride enables you to fundraise for the charity of your choice. If you don’t have a chosen charity, you can take part in support of our 2025 official charity: Southend Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our unique route allows participants to ride the usually restricted roads of Foulness Island. You could also stop along the way for homemade cakes and refreshments at the Foulness Heritage Centre.
