INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2015 FRED WHITTON CHALLENGE SPORTIVE CAN BE FOUND BY CLICKING HERE.
The Fred Whitton Challenge is a gruelling 112 mile sportive challenge ride for charity around the Lake District, run in memory of Fred Whitton. It starts and finishes at Coniston, and the route includes the climbs of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Hardknott & Wrynose passes.
The annual event is run in May each year, on the Sunday after May Day bank holiday Monday. They've also set up a timed self-led challenge ride over the same course, called the Four Seasons Fred Whitton, that you can do at any time of the year, when it suits you, with friends or clubmates for example.
Entries for the 2014 Fred Whitton went sale in early December 2013 and are now sold out - check back later in 2014 for entry to the 2015 ballot.
All the proceeds of the Fred Whitton Challenge go to charity. So please help them raise even more by printing off the sponsorship form and asking family, friends, work colleagues etc. to sponsor your ride.
All proceeds get donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and The Dave Rayner Fund.
