Using the feedback received from all the events we ran in 2013, both in Devon and Surrey, we've put together a spectacular series for 2014. The routes not only take in the best scenery the South Hams have to offer, but also flow much better allowing you to make far better progress and maintain a higher average speed.

With the smaller lanes of our previous events replaced with faster roads, you'll be able to settle into a smooth rhythm. Don't be fooled into thinking the challenge has dimished though - just look at the amount of climbing for each event and you'll soon see they are each a great ride.

With Spring being the one day 'classics' season, we've added a distinctly continental flavour to the feed stations, which in addition to the usual energy products, drinks, and fruit, will also offer Belgian Liege waffles. If they don't keep you going, nothing will!

Steam Hammer:

As with all our 2014 routes, the Steam Hammer takes in the stunning and challenging scenery of the South Hams with spectacular coastal and moorland terreain. Compared to our 2013 events, the Steam Hammer is much faster, with the smaller lanes replaced with wider roads to allow you to maintain a higher avaerage speed and better rhythum. Don't be fooled into thinking this makes it any less of a challenge though! There are some very tough climbs and with 2,200 m of ascent, you will find this one of the most rewarding events in the UK!

Starting in Salcombe, the route heads to Kingsbridge, before following the dramatic coastline to Dartmouth. The section of road is a favourite of many top local riders and was used in the 2012 Tour of Britain! You'll then head in land towards the edge of Dartmoor, before swinging South and then West to take in some of our best roads. The final leg brings you home on another section of the 2012 Tour of Britain route through Loddiswell, to finish just after Sandhills Road with its 5 hairpins - Salcombe answer to Alpe d'Huez!

The 3 feed stations will ensure you stay fully fuelled throughout the ride
