Ride To Horsa is a highly poignant and challenging cycling event which will follow a route from the former Tarrant Rushton Airfield to Ranville in Normandy.
The route pays tribute to D-Day Heroes of two operations; Elmira and Coup de Main and will visit some of numerous key locations in Normandy and pass through stunning scenery from start to finish, over 3 consecutive days.
- Day 1 (Thurs 5 Sept) - Tarrant Rushton to Lytchett Minster - 48 miles
- Day 2 (Fri 6 Sept) - short ride to Poole, ferry to Cherbourg, 25 mile ride to Ste Mere Eglise
- Day 3 (Sat 7 Sept) - Ste Mere Eglise to Ranville (via numerous legendary D-Day locations) - 72 miles
Places are limited to 150 cyclists, each of whom will be required to raise funds for The Veterans Charity. Part of the funds raised will be used to create a unique memorial at Horsa Bridge, which will be unveiled on Sunday 8th September!
