THE PERFECT LAST RIDE BEFORE WINTER
Challenge yourself with this fun and unique cycling event.
Made up of 3x60mile loops you can push yourself by achieving 60, 120 or 180miles in a day. Starting and finishing from Old Buckenham Country Park, the routes will cover some of the most beautiful parts of Norfolk and Suffolk. From Bury St Edmunds to Halesworth. All on the road, and in a flat area of the country allowing you to clock up the miles easily and see how far you can go in a day.
The event is a touch more self-reliant than a sportive. You will be sent 3 GPX routes to follow. Following these routes will lead you to find 2 checkpoint stamps on each loop. Follow the routes and the clues on your brevet card to find the stamps. For example, the clue may read:
‘On loop 1 at mile 20 you will see a red phonebox. Look back and search near the wooden gate’ - follow the clue and it will lead you to the stamp. Collect all the stamps to prove you have completed the course.
Not only do you get 3 well-designed, thought-out routes for your money, entry also gives you coffee and a sausage roll from Old Buckenham Country Park cafe, the safety of a broom wagon if you have a mechanical, and parking at the venue.
Ride the event solo or with friends. This is a fun, welcoming challenge designed for all. Ideal for road bikes but any bike will do.
