2024 – Flat 100 is one of our iconic and most popular rides, as the name suggests, it is possibly the flattest sportive in the country.
Limited to just 500 places, make sure you book early to guarantee your place – it always sells out before the day!
The Flat 100 was one of the first ever sportives that we ran, with the idea that a flat sportive, not chasing the classic climbs would make the event more accessible to a wider range of people and has been a first for many people attempting either a sportive in the first place or getting that milestone of a 100km or 100 mile ride.
Riders come back year after year seeing if they can beat their previous year's time.
You don’t need a particular bike, special clothing or anything to take part, just a desire to challenge yourself in a safe environment – all of the routes are fully signed, there’s a food stop half way round with everything you could need included, an emergency contact number if you need any mechanical help and other riders around should you need advice or someone to ride with. Many people use the Flat 100 as their first cycling event and do it as a sponsored bike ride for one of the local charities. Booking something early gives you an aim for the year ahead!
The Route was updated in 2022 to produce more left hand turns on the way to the quieter roads and the Trent Bank, a popular cycling area, we are keeping this route as it works really well, for those that haven’t tried the new route, you’ve got a treat in store, those that did it in 2022 said it was the best route yet!
If you are attempting the 100 mile route for the first time please make sure that you have got the training in and are able to maintain an average speed of 13mph + for the duration of the course, as well as duty of care to you the participants, we also have a duty of care in place for the volunteers on the day.
