The Polkadot

The Polkadot Challenge - "Spud" Riley Memorial Gran Fondo is a 100 mile bike ride, organised by Will's Wheels Cycling Club on the lines of the classic Italian Gran Fondo events. It starts in Woodford Village 10 miles South of Manchester and covers 100 miles through Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, with 16 official climbs varying in length from 1/2 mile to 5 miles with gradients up to 20%. There is a 54 mile option for those requiring an easier ride. The whole route and all the climbs are fully signposted and at the start of each climb is a sign showing its number, name and distance to the summit. Food and drinks are provided at two feeding/control points on the route.
