This year's Tour Ride Scotland takes on a different format in 2012, giving you the chance to enjoy an organised and fully supported 70-kilometre ride through Dumfries & Galloway in the morning, before settling down to enjoy the finish of Stage Three of The Tour of Britain at Dumfries Whitesands.
The Tour of Britain will use the same successful finish line as in 2011 where Mark Cavendish took victory last September, although hopefully with better weather conditions! As in 2011 there will be two opportunities to watch the professionals, as they pass through the Whitesands finish line and contest an intermedia Yodel Sprint, before heading out into the Dumfries & Galloway countryside and the run back to the exciting sprint finish.
Taking place on the morning of Tuesday 11th September, participants in The Tour Ride Scotland will head off from Dock Park on a 70-kilometre route, using a combination of roads from last year's visit to Dumfries & Galloway, plus the closing kilometres from 2012's Stage Three, including the run to the finish line on Dumfries Whitesands, in front of the waiting crowds.
There'll be a reserved area exclusive to Tour Ride participants to view the Stage Three finish, while as with all of the 2012 Tour Rides there is full support from Specialized, Maxifuel, Soreen and Highland Spring, among others.
