Velo29-Altura Daffodils Sportive

Daffodils Sportive, named after the World famous Farndale Daffodils was a new event in 2013. We wanted to add a 3rd Sportive to the Velo29 Calendar which incorporated some of our favorite roads, had a challenge for all abilities without been too hard (it is still April after all) and like the other Velo29 events, focused around a North East land mark.

All 3 route options leave Thirsk under the supervision of Escort Motorcycles and head straight away onto quite country lanes, small Villages and some beautiful North Yorkshire scenery.

We expect 500 riders to take part this year, the routes are not super challenging so lots of the groups will stay together. A great way to meet new cycling friends and ride in Pelotons rather than alone.

As always we’ve found some really interesting roads, around Farndale there will be routes not even the most regular riders know well. The Long route of course offers the most serious challenge and Blakey Bank will not disappoint those looking for a challenge!

It’s a lovely ride which you all really enjoyed last year with well positioned feeds, quiet roads and of course the great Velo29 signage so you can’t get lost!
