In 2014 the VO2 Sportive will be in its 6th year and to encorouge new sportive riders we have added our new 30km route. Starting in Hildenborough and following routes around Kent and Sussex this is a great day of cycling for all involved.
120km Route
The 120km route takes in some stunning scenery around Kent and Sussex. Starting in front of the beautiful Fosse Bank School, the route takes a short anti-clockwise loop before heading to Shipbourne for the first major climb of the route - Shipbourne Hill.
From there the route winds across to Knole Park in Sevenoaks and descends River Hill before entering Weald village. From Weald the route heads to Chiddingstone and around Bough Beech where it climbs the 2nd major climb - Ide Hill. At the top is the first feed station.
After taking in the scenery and some food the course descends to Brasted before climbing Toys Hill. Descend into Four Elms, where the two distances split and the 120km route continues on to Edenbridge. The route then climbs and takes a 5 mile stretch of road taking you to the Ashdown Forest .There the climb is up Chuck Hatch to the top of the stunning Ashdown Forest. At the top is the 2nd Feed station.
Descend into Groombridge and across to Penshurst to climb up past PORC on Grove Road. From there the route winds its way back across to Bough Beech and onto Chiddingstone Causeway. The route then turns left to Weald and climbs Hubbards Hill, before following the road to the T-junction at the end and turning right onto the main road out of Sevenoaks. Descend River Hill and head towards Hildenborough. Then finish back at The Walled Garden.
65km Route
The 65km route takes in some stunning scenery around Kent, following the first and last parts of the 120km route. Starting in front of the beautiful Fosse Bank School, the route takes you around a small anti-clockwise loop before heading to Shipbourne for the first climb of the route - Shipbourne Hill.
From there the route winds across to Knole Park in Sevenoaks and descends River Hill before entering Weald. From Weald the route heads to Chiddingstone and around Bough Beech where it hits the 2nd major climb of the day, Ide Hill. At the top is the first feed station.

The 65km riders take a left at the crossroads in Four Elms and head back to Bough Beech village, where the 120km route rejoins the course. Both sets of riders continue to Chiddingstone Causeway before turning left to Weald and climbing Hubbards Hill. At the top of Hubbards Hill, the riders follow the road to the T-junction at the end before turning right onto the main road out of Sevenoaks to Descend River Hill and head towards Hildenborough and finishing back at The Walled Garden.
30km Route (New for 2014)
Brand new for 2014! A 30km route sponsored by Perfect Form Personal Training. Our short route is a distance that is perfect for any one who is either new to cycling and wants to experience a sportive or wants a fitness challenge to train for.
Sign on will be in the studio and the event will start in front of Fosse Bank School. From there you will ride via Coldharbour Lane to Chiddingstone Causeway,then around Bough Beech resevoir on to Four Elms. At Four Elms you can rest at our feed station,refill your drinks bottles and grab a banana.
After the feed station follow the road all the way back via Leigh to Hildenborough and climb past Hildenborough station to return to the finish line.
