Wiggle Cotswolds sportive

This mid-summer Sportive is sure to test your season's training to date. With its unforgiving, but quintessentially British countryside vistas held entirely in the Cotswold District – as Britain’s largest Area of outstanding natural beauty, this will be one sportive you won’t want to miss out on.

Leaving from the magnificent Cheltenham racecourse, home of the Cheltenham Festival, and the Gold Cup, it has everything facility you come to expect from the Wiggle Super Series events.

There are three routes to choose from, Epic 105 miles, Standard 75 miles and Short at 40 miles, all of which are designed to involve the riders in this truly beautiful area. There are some truly awesome climbs mixed in with relentless rolling countryside…what a way to spend a summer’s day!

All routes start using rolling terrain before heading through the historic Cotswold town of Winchcombe with its golden stone buildings.

This leads rapidly to the first major climb of the day up to Round Hill and what a climb it is as you get to the crest be sure to look at the scenery laid out before you.

After that lungbuster the route settles down to open, rolling terrain to the village of Guiting Power where the short route riders split off while epic and standard riders continue South to Turkdean where the epics head off for a southern loop taking in Northleach and Bibury before heading North to rejoin all the other riders heading for Broadway.

The short route splits away again and heads for the finish whereas epic and standard riders press on to another major climb at Snows Hill, famous for its lavender, before a gentle run down to Chipping Cambden which leads to the last climb over the ridge and more open, gentle rolling lanes lead back through yet more pretty villages to the finish.

Once back at the venue you’ll be greeted with a finisher T-shirt, Medal, hot drinks, bike wash, optional massages.
