Winter doesn't mean that you should stop riding so we've put together a sportive that will light up your imagination, fill you with Christmas cheers and keep you riding deep into the full grip of winter. With a short ferry ride from the mainland, mince pies, indoor feed stations, and hot drinks, this is an end of season must!

So put away your turbo trainers, delay in the madness of the Christmas shopping and head out to the Isle of Wight for an enchanting festive sportive. “The Wight Winter” consists of 2 shorter route options to reflect the time of year.

The event will start and finish from just outside Yarmouth ferry terminal and riding couldn’t be any easier. There is a ferry ticketed option which includes entry, return ferry crossing and free parking on the Lymington side of the ferry. For those already on the Island we have a non-ferry ticked option, which includes entry to the event and limited parking in Yarmouth.

The route: From Yarmouth you’ll be heading in an anticlockwise direction towards the colourful cliffs of Alum bay and the Needles before making your way south. Here you’ll pick up the military road with its dramatic cliff side views and you’ll make your way up 2 of the biggest climbs on the route……oozing breath-taking views over the English Channel.

After completing the south of the island, you’ll be head north west straight through the centre of the picturesque island with its rolling hills, and in some places sea views on both sides!

With 2 festive feed stations on route you’ll have the time to top up on energy levels and get into the Christmas spirit with Mince pies and hot drinks (sorry no mulled wine!!) Warning – limited spaces available due to ferry restrictions, so book early to avoid disappointment.
