The Adventure Travel Show, the UK's leading adventure travel event since the 1990s, is returning for its 25th edition this weekend featuring an exciting roster of adventure cycling content and speakers on stage.

After an extended lay-off post-pandemic, the show is being re-launched at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London on 11-12 January 2025.

Over 100 exhibitors will be at the show including far-flung destinations and off-the-beaten-track experiences from all over the world. Bike interest is provided by Surly and Reilly who are both in attendance along with Monopati Hike N' Bike from Greece and Bike Tours Portugal. Or, if you want to really push the boat out on your next trip, Brown Bird & Co will be bringing their Land Rover Defender and Mercedes campervan conversions.

For the past 24 years, the Adventure Travel Show has celebrated a long and illustrious list of famous explorers and adventure travellers, as well as many more novice adventurers who've taken the plunge and set out on equally incredible journeys across its stages and show content.

This year is no different with experts diving into a huge range of travel topics from environmental issues and eco tourism, to the practicalities of solo travel or planning for your first cycling trip.

Amongst the speakers taking to the stage over the course of the weekend are former BikeBiz editor Carlton Reid together with his son and ultra distance cyclist Josh Reid, sharing stories from their adventures around the world.

Adventure plus cyclist and author of 'Carbon Cycle' Kate Rawles will also take to the stage, as well as the recent Cycling UK 100 Women in Cycling 2024 nominee and long-distance cyclist Sahir Permall, a community champion for empowering women through cycling.

Visitors to the show on Saturday will also hear from cyclist Duncan Covey who is currently on a round-the-world bike ride. Covey will be joining via a live interview during the morning from somewhere east of Perth, Australia, to update on his journey so far.

Alongside the cyclists on stage are a whole host of other exciting speakers including Benedict Allen, one of the world's leading modern-day explorers; Chaz Powell, an expedition leader, a bush craft instructor and a mountain leader striving to explore places that people rarely venture into; adventurer, writer and presenter Lise Wortley and many more.

There are three stages to choose from with talks from a line-up of explorers and adventurers who've returned from travels around the UK and across the globe by sail, foot, kayak, bus and bike.

Cycling-focused stage guest speakers over the course of the weekend include:

  • Former BikeBiz editor Carlton Reid talking about his recent off-road round-Britain ride, joined by his son and ultra cyclist Josh Reid
  • Guardian travel and food journalist Felicity Cloake who has just returned home from a food-focussed ride through the USA
  • Adventure plus cyclist and author of 'Carbon Cycle' Kate Rawles
  • Rebecca Lowe who wrote 'Slow Road to Tehran' about her solo ride from London to Iran
  • Sahir Permall on her Adventure Queens-funded ride from Scotland to Turkey

Tickets for the show cost £11 per adult, with children's tickets available at £4 for 5-15 year olds, with children under 5 going free.
