HotChillee has announced the 2014 dates for two of its most popular events, London-Paris and the Cape Rouleur sportive in South Africa. Both are fully supported, multi-stage events that offer amateur cyclists a first-hand experience of life in the pro peloton.

The Cape Rouleur is an early-season sportive, with the dates for 2014 set for 2-6 March. Hosted in Franschhoek, the ride offers rolling road closures, professional support and spectacular scenery through wine country, with participants promised a sight of penguins and maybe even a troop of baboons along the course of the three-day, 466km ride.

Although the 2014 ballot is now closed, you can request to be added to the reserve list in case a place becomes available: visit www.caperouleur.com/the_challenge.

A little closer to home, HotChillee's London-Paris 2014 ride will take place on 26 to 29 June. Rolling out of central London, riders will head for Calais on the first day, with a Eurostar crossing, before continuing to Amiens on stage 2 and a grand finish in Paris on the final day.

As in previous years demand has far exceeded supply, with the ballot now closed. Stay tuned to Sportive.com for first news on the 2015 event.

If you can't wait that long, why not check out an alternative ride such as the ever-popular London to Paris 24 event, aka L2P24. In this extreme sportive for the charity Scope, participants skip luxuries such as sleep to ride the full 280 miles in 24 hours. The 2014 ride takes place on 5-6 July, and places are still available.
